Obituary of Robert "Bob" Rhyno

RHYNO, Robert “Bob” William Sr.: 72, Halifax, passed away on June 15, 2009 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, NS following a lengthy battle. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Garfield Rhyno and Jean (Belmore) (Rhyno) Murray. Throughout his life Bob worked for various companies, including Automatic Amusements, and was known as a jack-of-all trades. He enjoyed playing darts. Bob loved his family dearly and will be sadly missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him. Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marion (Holmes), his children, Marion Hame (Laurie), Roberta Marryatt (Phillip), Mary Rhyno (Mark Strickland), and Robert “Bobby” Rhyno Jr. (Melinda Dobson), as well as his two “adopted” sons, Kenny Doucette and Ricky Cooper, his grandchildren, Amanda Marryatt and Calvin Marryatt (Samantha), Bruce Hame and Matthew Hame, Trevor Rhyno (Sharla) and Brittany Dobson-Rhyno, great-grandchildren, Justin Hame, Taylor Hame and Sage Hebert. He was predeceased by his father, Garfield, mother, Jean and step-father, Ernest Murray, and his only brother, Douglas Rhyno. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Vicky and staff of 8.2, QEII, and to Dr. Amanda Crosby and Dr. Dave Dupere for all of the care given to Bob. Special thanks to all of the friends and neighbours of 3445 Windsor Street, especially Mr. and Mrs. Turner and the Fougere Family, for all of their support. Also thanks to Rev. Ken Perrier and to Erin of JA Walker Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion. By request, cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11 AM from the chapel with Rev. Ken Perrier as officiating clergy. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Bob may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
