Obituary of Albert Dean
DEAN, Albert Percy It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Albert Percy Dean, 62, of Halifax on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at home after a long battle with cancer,Albert has left us to go home to his parents, the late Michael and Clara (Jen) Briand. Albert worked for many years driving cab for taxi companies around Halifax and surrounding areas. He also spent many happy years both at home and on the road with the Bill Lynch shows, and was an avid bingo player. Albert is survived by his companion, Cathy Rasley, Halifax; sister, Kathleen Rankin, Halifax; brother, Robert Briand, Halifax; nieces, Kim (Andrew) Spence, Shearwater; Tabitha (Jeffery) Lynds, Stewiacke; special nephews, Michael and Andy, Shearwater; several nieces and nephews across Canada. He was predeceased by brother, Gerald "Dino" Dean; sisters, Dorothy Cross and Caroline Dean in infancy; brother-in-law, Campbell Rankin. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield, (477-5601). By request there will be no visitation. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, June 22 at 2 p.m. in City Church, 276 Herring Cove Rd. with Pastor Jerry Kendrick officiating. A reception will be held in the church hall followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
Gone to the arms of our Lord, but home to his parents once more.
