Obituary of Cecil Lewin
LEWIN, Cecil 82, of Halifax, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 19, 2009. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late William Henry and Edith (Farrell) Lewin. Cecil was in the Merchant Marines during the Second World War. After the war, he worked for 30 years as a grain elevator operator. He is survived by his wife, the former Marion Matheson; daughters, Donna (Russell) Saunders of Halifax and Brenda LeBlanc of Oak Bay, NB; grand daughter, Jenna LeBlanc of Oak Bay NB. He was predeceased by his brothers, William, Reginald, Ernest, twin brother Victor; Sister, Ester Kennedy; and son in-law, Patrick LeBlanc. Funeral Arrangements are the under the direction of the J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cover Road. By request there will be no public visitation. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made Canada Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. A special thanks to the staff of Melville Lodge for their support and kindness.
