Obituary of Cedric Tanner

TANNER, Cedric Clarence — 85, Halifax, formerly of Stonehurst, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2009, in the VG site, QEII. Born in Blue Rocks, Lunenburg Co., he was the son of the late Ralph and Nellie (Greek) Tanner. Before retirement, Cedric worked at National Sea Products and The Halifax Shipyards. He is survived by his sister Eileen Tanner, Stonehurst, Lunenburg Co.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth "Sis" (Drysdale); brother in-law, Hazen Tanner. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Spryfield, (477-5601). By request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 9 at 2 p.m. in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Donations in Cedric's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
