Obituary of Aldythe Ford
FORD, Aldythe Frances … 95, Halifax, NS, passed away October 9, 2009 at Melville Gardens Nursing Home. Born in Quebec City, QC, she was the daughter of the late Godfrey and Charlotte (Sylk) Baller. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family of nine siblings. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Carl, and daughter Anne Swanton. She is survived by son Jim Ford(Jean) La Riviere, MB; daughter Adele Crowell (Tom) Halifax, NS; daughter Ellie Altmann (Derek) Innisfil, ON; grandchildren: Michael Ford, Thunder Bay; Roland Ford (Julie), Charlottetown, PEI; Percy Ford (Denise)Thunder Bay; Carol VanRamshorst (Terry) Thunder Bay; George Swanton (Melody) Thunder Bay; Christine Swanton-Dolkjar (Scott) Thunder Bay; Allan Swanton (Corrine) Thunder Bay; Taylor Altmann; Caitlin Altmann, Innisfill, ON; Amelia Crowell; Julia Crowell, Halifax, NS; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Aldythe was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her life and she was always there during times of need. She will be remembered for her many acts of kindness, her generosity, hard work, inner strength, strong faith and her beautiful smile and wonderful laugh. She enjoyed needle point, sewing, knitting, cooking and generally caring for others. A Graveside Memorial Service will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 800 Oliver Rd. Thunder Bay, ON, on Wednesday, October 21, at 11a.m., Rev. Scott Gale officiating.
