Obituary of Lorraine Westhaver

Westhaver, Lorraine M.: 82, Cowie Hill Lodge, Halifax, NS, passed away suddenly on November 3, 2009 in the QEII, Halifax Infirmary, surrounded by her loving family. Born September 25, 1927, in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Anne (Kennedy) Turner. Lorraine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her past-time enjoyment was knitting and bingo. She is survived by her children, Sandra Hollett (Glenn), Susan Fleet (Victor), and Paul Westhaver (Darlene), all of Halifax, grandchildren, James Hollett, Steven Hollett(Lesley), Cameron Westhaver, and Matthew Westhaver, as well as her great-grandchildren, Madeleine Hollett and Nolan Hollett, a brother, Edward “Ted” Turner (Adele), and sisters, Rita Snow and Phyllis Peters. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Carl and brother, Harry Turner. Resting at JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where visitation will be on Friday from 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 10 AM from the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax, NS. A reception will follow the burial at Cowie Hill Lodge, 166 Cowie Hill Road. Family flowers only by request, in lieu, donations to the charity of one’s choice.
