Obituary of Ronald Richards
Richards, Ronald Edward “Ronnie” “Taz”: 55, Halifax, NS, passed away at home with his family by his side on February 7, 2010. He was a son of the late Bill and Thelma (Green) Richards. Ronnie was a longshoreman at the Halifax Waterfront. Ronnie was an all around handyman and swore "if it wasn't broken, he couldn't fix it". He will be remembered as a people-person. He enjoyed camping and loved music. Throughout his illness, Ronnie was cared for at home by his loving wife, Rachel, his daughter, Darlene, and his sister, Darlene. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Rachel (McCoul), sons, Shaun, Brett, and Ronnie, all of Halifax, his daughter, Darlene, Halifax, his siblings, Ralph (Cathy), Ricky (Carol), Michael (Bea), Gary (Betty), Lisa (Hank), and Shelly, all of Halifax, and Darlene (Shaun), Greenwood, NS, as well as 5 grandchildren and his many, many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Thelma, and a brother, Bobby Richards. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Home Team for all of the care and compassion given to Ronnie during his illness.
Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A memorial service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 3 PM with Rev. Jeanne Manning Stright as officiant.
