Obituary of Glenna Forgeron
FORGERON (Dorman), Glenna MacQueen 92, Outram, Annapolis Co., formerly of Halifax, passed away at home on February 7, 2010. Born in Martock, Hants Co., she was a daughter of the late George and Flora (MacDonald) Dorman. She is survived by her daughters, Frances (Erling) Alstrup, Outram; Anna Marie Kolakowski, Hanover, Ont.; Eleanor Forgeron, Durham, Ont.; Kenneth (Ann), Etobicoke, Ont.; David (Carolyn), Spanaway, Wa.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Alfred; infant daughter, Florimay; son, Lawrence; brothers, George, Malcolm, Edward, Roderick and Earl; sisters, Eleanor and Margaret: nephews, Alan, Dale and Glendon Dorman. Glenna was one of the first women to drive a taxi in the city of Halifax, retiring in 1996 at the age of 79. She was a strong woman and an inspiration to all who knew her. She kept us laughing and taught us to face challenges head on. For that we are thankful. We love you Mom. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 11 in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd., where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 12. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
