Obituary of Lavonne Cail
CAIL (Thompson), Mary Lavonne 60, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2010, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer. She was a daughter of Floella Thompson and the late John C. Thompson. Lavonne's infectious joy of life brought her many friendships. She spent much of her early life in River John with her lifelong friend, Sandra MacKay. She was a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University and maintained many close friends from those days, especially Shannon Noseworthy. She was employed as a Program Administration Officer with Service Canada until her retirement in 2008. Lavonne loved her cats, Tilly and Snowball, and sailing. She is survived by brother, Dave Campbell and his wife, Jo-Ann; close friend, Bob Huggins, and former husband, Tom Cail. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. At Lavonne's request there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of her life (location to be announced) will be held at a later date and her ashes spread in her two favourite places, the ocean and River John. Donations in Lavonne's memory may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
