Obituary of Frances Slaunwhite

SLAUNWHITE, Mary Frances 82, Terence Bay River, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 15, 2010 at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Lower Prospect, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Agatha Kate (Heulin) Blackburn.For the 62 years of her marriage she resided at River Road, Terence Bay with her loving husband Carl. Her childhood home of Lower Prospect always held a special place in her heart. From their love came six children, Carolyn (Danny) Jollimore, Jean (Paul) Garrison, Patsy (Bub) Pettipas, Christine (Darrell) Slaunwhite, Larry (Debra) Slaunwhite, Lisa (Ward) Drew; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with a 13th on the way. She is survived by two sisters, Alena Ryan, Jean (Bill) Brophy; brother, Cecil (Babe); sister in-law, Margie (Leo) Blackburn, all of Lower Prospect. She was predeceased by brothers, Sherman and Leo Blackburn and a sister in infancy. Arrangements are under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd. (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Friday, March 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 10 am in St. Pauls Anglican Church, with Rev. Lisa Vaughn officiating. A reception will follow in the Terence Bay Fire Hall. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to St. Pauls Church or to a charity of ones choice.
