Obituary of Dorothy "Cookie" Verge

64- Halifax passed away April 11,2010 in the Halifax Infirmary QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late James Patrick and Lillian Pearl (Shanks) Connolly. Cookie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by sons: James, Shaun (Tammy); daughters Lisa Verge (Barry), Dorothy Saulnier (Ricky), Wanda Saulnier (Ritchie) all of Halifax: brother John Connolly(Lois): Halifax; sisters Lorraine Sawler (Daniel) Dartmouth; Judy Murphy (John): Halifax; grandchildren Ryan, Brittney, Vincent, Alicia, Jessica, Hanna, Jacob; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Thomas; brother Walter Patrick, sisters Mary Patricia, Diane and Doreen. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) 149 Herring Cove Rd. (477-5601) where visiting will be one hour prior to service on Thursday 2p.m. with reception to follow. Burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Association or the Canadian Lung Association.
