Obituary of Marian Osgood

81, Halifax. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother and grandmother in the early hours of Sunday, April 25, 2010, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Black Point on August 20, 1928, she was the middle daughter of the late Thomas and Edna (Seliger) Kennedy. Marian loved dancing and was an active member of the Spryfield and Sackville Seniors Clubs. Many Saturday nights were spent at the legion kicking up her heels and listening to her favorite group, Special Blend. She was also a great fan of the late "Newfie George". Mom loved flowers, a good (dirty) joke and visiting her friends. She was proud of her family, especially her granddaughters and will be missed by her cats, Mittens and Kitty. She leaves behind to morn her husband of 56 years, Arthur "Ozzie"; son, Brian; daughter, Dianne Whynot (Mike), all of Halifax; younger sister, Jeanette McKendry, Victoria, B.C.; granddaughters, Angela and Melanie; and several nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by her older sister, Dorothy Seaboyer. Visiting will be held on Tueasday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral service on Wednesday at 11 a.m., reception to follow, all in J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd. (477-5601). Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Hubbards. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
