Obituary of James Brown

BROWN, James … 90, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in the QEII Health Sciences Center. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Samuel and Rosella (King) Brown. James was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Air Force. He was a life time member of the Quantity Surveyors Association and belonged to the Prayer Book Society. In his free time James was an avid woodworker and master craftsman, constructing everything from birdhouses to dollhouses for his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by his wife, Irma (Inglis); daughters, Susan (Terry Dineen), Toronto, Ont.; Katherine (Tim Babcock), Ottawa, Ont.; grandchildren, Lauren Dineen-Duarte (Romeo); Ryan James Babcock and Kristine Babcock; great-grandson, Kingsley Duarte; brothers, Nelson (Joan), Donald and Gordon (Evelyn); sisters, Carol and Joyce (Frank). He was predeceased by sisters, Annie, Ida, Mae and Florence. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601). In keeping with James’ wishes, there will be no visitation. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at 11 AM from St. George’s Anglican Church, with The Rev’d George Weshaver officiating.
