So sorry to hear of Joan's passing. Even though I have not seen Joan in years, I still think of her very fondly. We use to have some great laughs and fun with her dear friend Helen MacMillian. They will now be together. Condolences to all of her family.

So very sorry to learn of Joan’s passing.
It was always a pleasure to have Joan visit at my mother’s, she always brightened Mum’s day whether it was fourtyyears ago or a more recent visit.
Dad and Mum were her godparents and always spoke so fondly of Joan

My deepest condolences to Eric,Gord,Cheryl and Joan’s four sisters and family on her passing. Joan and I have been friends for over sixty years and always kept in touch. Joan was such a wonderful friend and I will miss her humour and wonderful laugh. We always had so much fun together. She certainly made this world a better place and we are so blessed to have Joan in our lives. Wish I could be with you today as you celebrate Joan’s life, but know I am thinking of you all. I am really sad to hear about Joan passing. I know that mum and dad (Natalie and Paul Soucy) would also want me to say a prayer for their dear and long-time friend. My memories were of everyone sitting at the table playing Rummoli, and mum and Joan going to Bingo, and shopping and just hanging out over a cup of tea or coffee. And the many times I would babysit while they would all go out dancing, or to some event. I remember there was always a lot of laughter.

My dear, sweet friend Joanie. My bestie and my chosen sister. There are no words to express my feelings of sadness and loss at your passing. We have shared so much over a friendship of the past 45 years. You will live forever in my heart and thoughts and I will miss you everyday of my life. Thanks for the great friendship. I am saddened to learn of Joan's passing - knew Joan in Greenwood many years ago and she was such a fun-loving, friendly person. Military life style is one where many people come and go through the years - some we have forgotten; but, ones like Joan remain in our memory forever, even if we do not regularly keep in touch.

To all the family, it's hard to express how sorry we were to hear of your terrible loss !!
Our families grew up together (Lukemans and MacMillans) in Canso & there are so many memories that tie us together, beginning for me (Barb) in the 40's & 50's...(I was the baby) !!!!
In later years, my favourite & happiest memories were when my sister Helen was still alive & she & Joan both lived in Halifax...( they were a force to be reckoned with) !!! They spent many week-ends visiting us in Lunenburg.. Oh the good fun & laughter will never be forgotten !!
Give Helen a hug for us Joan and hugs from all of us to your family & friends.

Dearest Joan:
How can I possibly write all the memories you have given me. From your backyard parties, where you were the most gracious of hosts while always being the center of attention. Never a word when I would deposit Gord on your doorstep after a late night out! Your treat drawer was always full for any children visiting your home. I know my children knew where to look!. The many evenings sitting on your front porch just shooting the breeze. Coming over to visit "for just a little one" and staying for hours joking, singing, the life of the party. You couldn't carry a tune but were always heard above anyone else. Many evenings playing cards with me and the boys. What great fun!
Take care in heaven my friend and thank you for being a part of my life growing up!

I want to express how sorry Iam for the familys loss. There are some very
comforting words found in Gods Word, the Bible, at Acts the 17th. chapter,
verses 24 & 25 where God is called "the source of life"......the One who
gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to our
loved ones who have died. Another comforting scripture is found in the Bible
book of Job, the 14th. chapter, verses 14 & 15. It speaks about how God
longs to bring back those who are in His memory & see them live on earth
again. I hope this brings the family comfort. My sincere condolence to you &
