Dear Margaret and family-- I was saddened to hear of the passing of Alan, whom I learned to know and love when he was with you while serving our congregation at Ebenezer Methodist Church in St. George's, Bermuda. He loved Bermuda and its people. For certain he will be missed on earth, but he will be praising God with the angels in heaven. He was such an example of faith and of dedicated and continuous service to humanity during his lifetime to all whose life he touched.

My earliest memory is meeting Alan and Margaret after a car accident, a late night snowy drive and on the eve of my thesis defence. I was a bundle of nervous energy and yet, despite being a stranger, I was held with warmth and kindness. They say, it is not what you do, rather how you make people feel that people remember, and that is very true. Over the many years, it has been that same steady warmth and light humour that has kept me tied to Alan. May the Sagar family remember that steadiness and warmth as you move forward.

Rev. Sagar was one of my favorites, loved how he was always so happy and joyful. He bought the sermon to life with his puppets and I have never forgot that from his days in Mulgrave/Guysborough at St. James Anglican Church. He signed my first passport photos for me. Loved talking with him, he had such a love for the outdoors.
My deepest condolences to you all and to Simon who I later met in Halifax. Rev Alan Sagar was someone that made you feel happy and someone that you could never forget.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My brother and I were confirmed into the Anglican Church by Rev. Sagar in Deep Brook which was part of the parish of Clementsport. I have fond memories of him. When I was applying to college Rev. Sagar gave me a recommendation. He also wrote me a letter of encouragement with little cartoons around the borders. I will never forget him. My condolences to his family.

Condolences to all... I and Debra are so glad to have known this wonderful friend.. he will be greatly missed. Having seen hell on earth it's amazing how he always had a smile in his heart on and on his face for all of us.. especially children. His love for humanity came through loud and clear in everything he did. His greatest artistic triumph was the example of his life.. full and rich. .. courageous to the end. When I think of the things he did,, but that we had to pry out of him... his humility was exemplary ! We'll certainly be missing you Al... and remembering you ! Cheers.
