Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of my friend Mary North to Robert, Chris and Andrew and families.. I worked many years with Mary at Birks and enjoyed the social times with lots of storying telling and laughter or just catching up for lunch after she retired and our telephone conversations. Mary always enjoyed sharing the stories of her family and showing the pictures of her sons, grandchildren and their spouses. She was very proud of her family and they were always her first priority. It was wonderful that all of her family was able to come home for Christmas as that filled her heart with joy and made Christmas very special. May the sorrow you feel in your hearts lighten by the love that surrounds you all during this difficult time. Know that you will always have the wonderful memories to cherish and comfort you. God's love and many prayers are all around you - now and for as long as it takes. Sharon MacDonald

Dear Robert, Andrew and Chris So sorry to hear of Mary's illness and then her death. We were neighbours and friends for many years. Ill always remember her love and dedication to her 3 boys. Dear Rob, Andrew and Christopher- and families.... My heart is sad indeed this morning to read your mother's obituary in today's newspaper. Mary was an amazing dynamic woman, and I always enjoyed and liked her very much! No more so than when/if we were called on to represent/defend the best interests of one of our sons- particularly our eldest - who 'perhaps' thought too much alike at times!? Shades of Fairview Jr High....shared class projects, Halloween dances, away trips etc. We knew Rob best, but also knew Andrew and Chris through their mother's stories - and know too how much she dearly loved all her sons - and was so proud of all of you always!! Please know that our hearts and prayers go out to all of you, and other family members and friends of Mary- at this time of loss and grief. She was unique and special and will be greatly missed! My sincere condolences to the family of Mary. I worked with Mary for many years @Birks & always enjoyed her Enthusiasm & great personality. So very sad & tragic.Certainly gone too soon. I am sure the boys & her grandchildren will have wonderful memories of Mary.

My sincere sympathy to the North boys and their family.I’ve known Mary for many years and will miss our nightly calls to discuss our favourite show Coronation Street. Our road trips were legendary-we knew every Tim Horton’s between Shepherd Road and St Peter’s and if there was a restaurant we hadn’t tried we were sure to make it on next road trip.Have a cup of coffee with our dear friend Isabel.I’m sure you two have a lot of catching up to do. My deepest condolences to Rob and his brothers. Through 13 years of French Immersion togethers and numerous birthday parties Mrs North was always organizing, chasing and encouraging us on. As a teenager, waking up after a sleepover or home from an early morning swim, Mrs North was always ready enough breakfast to feed an army. And always with a constant running commentary! When she wasn't busy helping her family she was busy telling one and all about all the successes of her three boys. This continued with her grandchildren, who she wouldn't stop bragging about when visitors came. As parent and volunteer, she was always ferrying us around to track meets in the infamous "boat" or helping run the latest fundraiser at Beaufort Elementary. Her energy and passion left you overwhelmed, inspired and always uplifted. Even talking to her in the hospital; her optimism, cheerfulness and frankness will be remembered.. Thank you for all your support Mrs. North. I know you are watching after your boys and their families, ready to encourage them on or keep them in line!
