Dear Marie and Family I was very saddened to hear of Doug’s passing. I had planned to attend the service today but at the last minute cannot make it. I was going through old photos from Montreal and had three I was going to bring. I will try to stop in some day and see you. Our families had lots of fun together in Montreal. Years later, I was fortunate to work with Caroline and Glenn at NSS&L. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. Dear Mary and family -- Although I didn't have the pleasure of knowing your Mr. d'Eon, I have been blessed and delighted to have made the acquaintance of the daughter that he and Mrs. D'Eon raised and sent out into the world. He and Mrs. D'Eon did us all a favour by raising a woman of such heart, intelligence, strength, wit -- and storytelling abilities! My heart goes out to your family. I am Helen's oldest son. I actually lived with Doug and Marie when I was quite young for a while. I have great memories of that time. Sadly lost touch over the years. Due to my wife having surgery we will not be able to attend the funeral but wish to send heartfelt condolences. He was a great man and will be missed by all

Dear Marie, My heart instantly hurt when I read Dougs obituary this morning. While words are of little comfort when you loose someone who has been part of you for so many years you should know that he was truly a beautiful person and liked by many, my Greg being one of them. They certainly enjoyed their C.O.P. runs together. I don’t recall a time that I saw Doug when he wasn’t smiling that smile that made you feel better about your day. Our sincere condolences to Marie and family during this very difficult time. I will forever cherish the many memories that I have of Doug. He was like another father to us. We will always miss that smile, that laugh, the waves from afar. He was truly the person who was always ready to lend a helping hand, or just pop by to chat or share a couple of laughs. I often made it a point to walk through the lunch are of the Halifax Shopping Center when I was there just to see if he was there with friends. Often I spotted him and loved to just give him a hug and chat a minute and just share a few laughs. He always made me laugh. He will most definitely be missed and forever be remembered as an amazing man and friend. Thank you Doug for everything! Hugs from afar and still love you. Vickie and Patrick
