Betty, Luke and family, please accept my sincere condolences on Donnie's passing. While a friend for many years, we had unfortunately not seen each other in the last few and I was shocked and saddened to hear the news. He was a kind, very funny genuinely nice person as well as one hell of a bass player. With deepest sympathy, Bruce.

Was so saddened to learn of Donnie's illness and then so quickly to learn he had passed. He was a cousin I only remember meeting once, but we had such a nice connection over email and FB for many years. He was always kind, honest, funny, and expressed great pride and love for his family. His photography showed great skill and appreciation for nature, especially seascapes, cats and wild birds, all of which were carefully and artfully captured. Donnie and I talked a lot about music. His love of playing his bass, creating music, and being part of the magic that happens when musicians come together was something he was passionate about. My deepest condolences to the East Coast family, especially Betty and Luke, Lynda, Ted, Bobbie and Kenny.
Thinking of you all with sympathy and deep fondness. Christa Brenan

I was a friend and fellow musician with Donnie in 1965, 66 and early 67. I enjoyed his friendship immensely during those years. Unfortunately we lost touch since then. Sincere condolences to Betty, Luke and family.

Dear Betty and Luke -
I am so sorry to hear of Donnie's passing. Met him in Toronto and he introduced me to Bruce Wheaton there. We had many memories over the years, watched him in SOMA. and played with him in ROCK TALK. Loved his pics of the cats and the Rosalie.
I was making tuna sandwiches one day and asked him if he wanted one, he said, "I've never tuned a sandwich."
xoxo
Big Hugs to you both.

One of the kindest people I've met in my life! A great sense of humor, loyal, and with the musical skills that we all strive for. My regret is that I didn't share enough time with Donnie! He had so much to offer all of us and his wonderful caring ways will always be something that he never had to work on.
Donnie was a dear friend who had time for me. We spent many times at my camp just enjoying each other and so excited that music was a part of our lives. He was a world class musician who made many bands sound the way they were supposed to!
I consider myself to be a very fortunate man to have had you in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Betty,
Sorry to hear of Donnie's passing. I was just thinking of you two last week. Will come by the next time I'm in Halifax, or when I learn of a service on Donnie's passing.
Sincerely,
Michael
