Obituary of Frances Arlene Bannister
Williamswood, It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of Frances (Coyle) Bannister. Born in Charlottetown, PEI on June 1 1936 to the late Charles and Dorothy (Gallagher) Coyle.
She is survived by her husband, Bryan “Benny” Bannister; son, Patrick Bannister (Catriona MacInnis-Bannister); grandson, Koa Bannister; sister Geraldine Hayden, Halifax and brother, Charles Coyle, Dartmouth. She was predeceased by daughter, Arlene Bannister; sister Maureen Berakos and brother, Kenneth Coyle.
Frances started working as a teen, then joined the RCAF. On her release from the Air Force, she was employed at the Spryfield Medical Center for 15 years, then moved to Sears for 20 plus years. She was involved with Girl Guides for 41 years.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. Funeral services will take place at a later date.
he family would like to thank Dr. Hugh Matheson and staff for all their assistance over the years, also the staff of the Renal Dyalysis Unit at the Dickson Center, you all deserve wings.
A Memorial Service for Frances, who passed away on January 26, 2021, will be held Wednesday July 14, at 11am from Stella Maris Parish (St. Michael’s) St. Michael’s Ave. Subject to Covid-19 regulations, only 100 people can be in attendance, therefore registration is required. To register go to www.stellamarishalifax.com. Interment to take place in Oakridge Memorial Gardens Lower Sackville.
