Obituary of Jack Osmond
Age 80, of Bear Cove, NS, passed away on March 22, 2021 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary surrounded by his family. He was born Ingwald John Osmond to parents Fred and Mary Osmond in Corner Brook, NL.
After graduating from the Nova Scotia Land Survey School and being Gold Seal Certified by the Canadian Construction Association, Jack owned and operated numerous construction and demolition companies. Through his involvement working in the industrial sectors, Jack was a leader and pioneer in reforming and formalizing construction safety in Nova Scotia.
In past years he enjoyed boating, waterskiing, and stock car racing with his children. More recently he enjoyed travelling and spending time with his wife Heather at their home in Bear Cove.
Jack is survived by brothers, Philip (Tanya) and Gary; his five children from his first marriage, Cindy (Pictou County), Jak (Vancouver), April (Windsor), Scott & his wife April (Porter’s Lake), and Kean (Dartmouth); as well as 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Heather Horne; parents, Fred and Mary Osmond; sisters, Ruth Nelson (Lloyd), and Betty Efford (Sam); and brothers, Derek and Fred.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
