Our heartfelt condolences to Suzanne, Gerry, Kara, Erika and all your family. “Nanny Marie” was a wonderful, loving person. Whether she was driving the kids back and forth to school, helping with a school project, or just hanging out with the kids in the backyard, Marie was always on hand to make their day. May your memories comfort you all through the tough days ahead.

Janie, Marilyn, Suzanne, Karen and family…..it was a pleasure to get to know and care for your mom, grandma these last 4 months. Marie so willing opened her heart to me. We shared some wonderful moments together even during the wee hours of the night. She shared lots of childhood memories and work experiences over the years. She taught me how to play her favourite game of cards and was never once a poor loser when I got on a winning streak. She would jokingly call me a cheater and I reminded her I was taught by the best. :) She loved that. We spent many times watching cash cab together over her favourite beverage, a cup of tea. We often would talk about how we would love to get picked up for a free cab ride and win some money. We were both confident we could make it to our destination without three strikes against us.
She longed to get behind the wheel again to drive herself and others around and talked often of it. We would go to the dingle occasionally just to watch the boats go by. Even though the last few days and nights of her life were hard she managed to find things to laugh at esp during the long hours of the night. She had a wonderful sense of humour and I never knew what comments would come out of her just at those moments when one didn’t think she was strong enough to voice them.
Oh how she loved her family and surrounded herself of pictures of all of them and talked so lovingly of each one. I feel honoured to have been given this short time with her and thank the Lord for her sweet spirit!
