I was checking for my Aunts obituary and came across Doreen’s. My Aunts name is Ruth Hattie (born Findley). I have been working on my family tree for the last 40 years and while I don’t know much about your family, I do know they’re connected. Joseph (and Maude) was my Grandfathers (Percy)’s brother. I know very little about the Findley side of my tree as I never knew my grandfather and by the time I got interested in my family tree, my grandmother was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s. if you or anyone in your family is interested in my/our tree, go to ancestry.ca and search for Thomas Raymond Findley or the name of my tree is “trfindley” . Feel free to contact me if you’re interested tfindley@bellaliant.net. I know this isn’t the best place to post this but I didn’t know how else to get in touch, and, after all, we ARE family
Again, condolences for your loss
Tom Findley

Doreen you will be missed. Covid put us at a distance and now you are gone. You were such a great friend in my life. We met while working at Simpsons Halifax as teenage girls. We watched each others’ children grow, marry and have their own children. I was always excited when Doreen would call to say they were coming up to our farm! I made sure the baked beans were ready especially for Les. Many memories have passed and Les I just want to let you know from the bottom of my heart how sorry I am for your loss. She was a special lady ❤️ Condolences to Les, Craig and family. Minna Ettinger
I have lost the phone number. You could contact me through Joan’s email she posted this for me.

Doreen was a long time friend of my Mother, Minna Ettinger, I believe they met while both working at Simpson’s Halifax around the ages of 17 or 18. Doreen and her husband Les would visit our family farm for many years thereafter. I remember Doreen’s infectious laugh! Condolences to Les and Craig and family for their loss. Leslie and family - I was sorry to hear of your loss. Doreen was good to Mom and us when we were kids and we liked to come visit in Sambro. She and Mom were so very much alike in many ways. After Mom passed I had hoped that Doreen and I would remain in touch but that was not meant to be. I enjoyed your visits to Cape Breton on your way to Newfoundland. They were fun times. Again my sympathies are with you and your family for your loss.
