Obituary of Shauna Noreen Gracie
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shauna Noreen Gracie, 46, of Williamswood NS on August 11, 2022. Born in Glace Bay, NS. Shauna had a true love of fishing, camping and relaxing by the fire. She was adored and loved by her family, an amazing mother and wonderful wife. Shauna leaves behind her loving husband of 17 years, Dan Wile; handsome sons Parker and Spencer and beautiful daughter Charleigh. Shauna was the daughter of Leo and Brenda Gracie and sister to Shane (Tasha), and aunt to her incredible niece Alexis.
Shauna is predeceased by both her paternal and maternal grandparents. Shauna also leaves behind her extended family: Uncle Billy (Linda and Family), Uncle Stuart (Lorraine and Family), Uncle Lorne (Judy and Family), Uncle Gary (Donna and Family), Uncle Blair (Cathy and Family), Aunt Margaret (and Family) and Aunt Shelley (Earle and Family). In-laws Lewis and Karen Wile, Shantell (Jeff), and her special Twisted Sister of 42 years Tracey (Lawrence and Family).
A fiercely proud Mama Bear, Shauna devoted her time and energy to ensuring her home was filled with nothing but love and laughter. Shauna dedicated her life to her family and embraced every moment with them. Her time with Dan would never be long enough, but the love they had for each other could fill hundreds of life times.
Shauna had an unmatchable zest for life and treated everyone she met as family. Her contagious laugh and witty sarcasm would keep even the wittiest on their toes.
Shauna worked the majority career for Shannex in the Maplestone/Arborstone facilities. Although she hadn’t worked in some time, she often missed her team and many friends and colleagues she has had over the years.
A special thanks for their compassion, dedication, straight-forwardness and unwavering support must be extended to doctors and nursing team of Floor 5A and in particular Doctor Rayson.
Dan would like to give a big thank you to the palliative care team (especially Shannon, Tammy and Cindy) for their extraordinary efforts in helping him grant one of Shauna’s final wishes, going home to be with her family.
In keeping with Shauna’s wishes, there will be no service and cremation has taken place under the trusted care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, it’s requested that donations be made to the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre.
“Till the broken road brings us together again, protect us and watch over us with your nanny’s help and keep my heart with yours” – your loving husband Dan.
