Our sincerest condolences for the loss of your father. It was always a pleasure to see Bud and Ada come to the Newfoundland Club. Everything comes to an end, even life, then a new beginning. I hope they are dancing with the angels up in heaven. Take care. Sincerely, Sharon and Stan Aitkens, and Doris Burke.

The 4 of us thought the world of Bud and there is something not quite right with him and your mother no longer here. You could take the Bud out of Newfoundland but not the Newfoundland out of Bud. More than once he'd go tell us about things that happened to him thru the years. It would trigger something funny and he'd start to snicker or laugh. Then try to finish the story. Between his laughing and the Newfoundland twang, you had no idea what he was saying. All you could do is smile and nod. He was a great guy, terrific neighbor and one in a million. He will be missed. Our condolences on his passing.

I had the pleasure of sailing with Bud. He was a true gentleman and an exceptional seaman.
Bud was willing to share his knowledge and skills with his shipmates.
We will al meet again on the other side of the Bar.

We have so many fond memories of Bud and Ada when they were our neighbours on Aurora Avenue so many years ago. We missed them very much when they left but got to see them them often on their walks around the area. Such good people. Our condolences and best wishes to the family.

I am at a loss for words, however wanted to share some photos with everyone. Ada was Bud's whole life and when she left this world, Bud's life basically ended too. Bud had alzheimer's and the last four years of his life without Ada were difficult / lonely. Aborstone provided excellent care. Junior was Bud's name sake, both "William". Junior and Bud shared a cabin on the Coast Guard Ship Sir William Alexander from 1981-82. Imagine that sharing a cabin with your dad. The picture below is not the Sir William Alexander it is the Labrador. Not sure if Bud sailed on this one but it is a Coast Guard ship from Dartmouth that Junior sailed on.
