Auntie Marie and Uncle Charlie were very present in my childhood during our time in Winnipeg. Life long friends of my Mom and Dad in Halifax, they became family as we did not really have any while in Winnipeg. They used to bring me for sleepovers and camping in their trailer, memories I will cherish forever. When we transferred back to Halifax they were then living in Bayside having sold the Pine Cone and settled into their snowbird winters. Mom, Dad and I spent a couple weeks with them in St Augustine, Charlie had converted the back of his van into a little suite for me as there wasn’t any room in the airstream. Auntie Marie threw me my surprise bridal shower and always took the time to check in over the years, always interested in my children's lives. To say that family is not always blood could never be more true. Marie and Charlie were the only Aunt and Uncle I ever had, and I will always remember them with such fondness.
To her family, my sincere condolences, and may the cherished memories of her bring you peace every day.

When I was a young lad in East Gore, I can remember the Scott’s from Halifax visiting especially during the summer months. Marie was the lady as Dad used to call her. I visited them when they lived in Bayside. Always a happy couple who made you feel welcome. Lost touch the last decade or so and was saddened when I read her obituary. Rest in Peace Marie.

When I was a child they were my neighbours in Halifax, and I spent so many years with them. I always referred to them as my Aunt Marie and Uncle Charlie. They were like my 2nd parents. After they moved to Winnipeg I was devastated. However they returned to Penobsquis, NB when they bought the Pine Cone Motel I was able to spend some time visiting. They then moved back to Bayside. We kept in touch and they both were able to meet my children. Phone calls etc. Then one day they were no longer in Bayside, and I lost touch. I spent years trying to find them hoping one day we would reconnect. Today I read her obit, and read that Uncle Charlie has passed, I am so sad, many years of memories of back in the day. RIP to both of you.
