I’m truly sorry about Johnny I was so devastated to hear about his passing , he truly was a great soul always had a smile , great heart , with a great sense of humour. I’ll never forget the last time I saw him we were both were stoped at the red lights on Chebucto Rd, He in his Taxi I’m in my vehicle we looked over at one another. John had the amazing smile on his face we laughed, rolled the windows down had a quick chat than waved goodbye. Truly amazing man! RIP

John was truly one of the best. We shared many years in the stands, watching Blake&Alex, then Austin&Rachel play with Chebucto Atlantics. Always a smile & kind word for all. My last & funniest memory was him&I on Messenger, March 29th. I was teasing him about his "bomb squad" visit at the VG, we had a great laugh. He will be missed so very much. All our love to Lori, Austin & family xoxoxo

Such a beautiful soul, gone too soon. John was the type of person, that when you saw him, you couldn’t help but smile. You will be missed by so so many. The Facebook stories will be missed. I looked forward to your daily escapades. Even in your illness you brought joy. Love you my friend. Please hug Mom for me.
My condolences to Malerie and Dontae and John’s entire family.

So sad to see this news of John today. I second all that was beautifully said already by our cousin Catherine Delaney (Glencross). She said it so well. Condolences to everyone whose life will feel this 'great loss' so much - far too young he was. John had the combination of both his Mom and Dad's good looks. As Catherine so eloquently pointed out, I too am certain, they're all having a grand reunion on the 'other side' now. May you ALL find comfort in the 'challenging' days ahead from each other and your wonderful shared memories of John, remembered with much love. God Bless you all

My heart is broken. I will miss my darling son-in-law for the rest of my days! He always made me so proud and I never heard a bad word about him. Thank you for being such a loving, caring man and setting a great example for the young ones and showing us all how to live a good life. Thank you for loving my daughter so completely. Love you forever, Mama.

It is never easy to say that last "see you later" to a loved one. I know that Aunt Shirley, Uncle Harold, Nanny and Grampie Gibb as well as all the "Gibb" aunties will make sure he is loved and cared for until you meet again.......
May the Good Lord send His angels to watch over and comfort you as you grieve.
Hugs,
Cousin Catherine (Delaney) and Phillip Glencross

I knew John by name only many years ago but than I had the pleasure of providing child care to his wonderful daughter Malerie and than to his awesome grandson Dontae. He would come to my house to pick them up many days and he would have me laughing so much, what a personality!! I did not have him on Facebook until a few months ago when he asked me to add him which I did right away! We kept in touch off and on and than when he was in the hospital we talked more often because I had just returned home from the VG around the time he was omitted so we had a lot to talk about! I always loved hearing his stories and I will miss them a lot! Malerie, Dontae, and family I can not tell you how shocked and sad I was to hear of your Dad and Granddad passing, you guys have been in my thoughts and prayers since I heard the sad news! Please accept my sincere condolences xo

I haven't seen Johnny in awhile. Now I know why. My heart is heavy for his much loved family and cherished friends. My daughter Grace started primary school with his lovely son Austin. To which I quickly re named him "Harvey Austin"...I thought both names were beautiful. I soon found out Johnny was his Dad...a person I met many moons ago as a teenager when he worked with my brother in-law, Andrew. It was so great to re connect. For the past 15 years I have seen Johnny on occasion in person...and every time it was a fun passionate conversation about everything from family to politics. So full of life and so full of tales...all of which included his beautiful children and loved ones. To say he will be missed is an understatement. He was a presence. To his family and dear friends just know he made an impact...he was bigger than life. I will never forget the impact he had on my life as a mere acquaintance. Melanie Wells

So sorry to John’s family for your loss. I remember that John added so much to crew life at McDonald’s and student life at school, with his genuine charm and enthusiasm. It just brings a smile to my heart thinking about him, but sadness for your big loss.
