Just a couple of memories. I have vague memories as a little girl visiting Sis and Davey’s place on West Street in Halifax. It must have been an upstairs flat because I remember coming in the front door and climbing lots of stairs. The rooms were very separated, not the open concept of today’s living and the adults were always in the kitchen having tea. I also remember their travel trailer at Monavista campground in Enfield. Our mom (Sis’s sister) took us camping there in a tent and it was the first time I’d ever seen a travel trailer. I remember the windows and how they cranked out, the small sink and Sis puttering around inside probably making lunch or something. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Like a playhouse for adults. I also remember being so taken with Sis’s hands, in particular her fingernails. She always had them painted in beautiful shades of red. They always looked so elegant. ❤️

My deepest sympathies to you Peggy. Your description of your grandmother as a “small woman with a sharp tongue” is perfect. Sis would call me every now and then and say “just wanted to let you know I haven’t forgotten about you”. Well just to let you know Aunt Sis, I won’t forget about you. Rest easy.
