I am so deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Laura. Laura and I worked together for 4 years and she told everyone I was her daughter. The bond we shared is something I think of often! Her love for her dogs (and mine!) gave us a crazy dog mom bond. She will be missed. I hope she’s enjoying all the Katie & Kelly cuddles in heaven. ❤️

I was very surprised and deeply saddened to hear of Laura’s passing. We worked together up to her retirement and continued to remain friends. I will remember her as the kind, funny and caring person she was to her fur babies, friends and family ❤️

To the Dockrill Family
I am deeply saddened to learn of Laura’s passing. We had worked together many years ago and we shared many happy times together with both her parents sewing together and laughing. A piece of my heart goes with her.

To the Dockrills,
Ian and I are so very sorry to hear this news. Laurie and I started school together and were best friends through to adulthood. She was my bridesmaid when we got married. There were a lot of happy times and giggling through the years and it is sad that we eventually lost touch. Laurie was bright, kind and gentle. For a number of years she cajoled your Mom into making me a lemon meringue birthday pie! In later years she loved her dogs, but I can also remember her love of a beautiful ginger cat named Jay…Laurie was an extraordinary person. She and her lovely smile will be missed. To the Dockrill and extended family,
I am shocked and saddened for your loss; I am so sorry.
Laurie and I met a couple of years ago as we lived in the same neighbourhood, and I would see her almost every day walking Willow.
She was such a kind and friendly soul, and what started as casual conversations evolved to her visiting with Willow and occasional swims at Long Lake. We became friends.
Willow adored Frida, and whenever Laurie would walk by, Willow would look for Frida. She would make sad puppy eyes until Frida came outside to play, and they would run around the yard endlessly.
I can't believe Laurie will not be walking by anymore. I miss her every day.
I am extremely grateful that Laurie put me back in touch with my dear friend and her niece, Erin. We learned of this connection purely by chance. I can't thank her enough.
Please reach out to me if there's anything I can do to help you.
Penny

To the family and friends of Laura Dockrill,
We were saddened to hear of Laura‘s death. Ruth and I lived on Knob Hill Crescent for 30 years and we always appreciated Laura and her parents as neighbors. It was always good to see Laura walking Kelly and Katie and we often had conversations with her about her dogs and ours. We will always remember Laura.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all who mourn her death.
God bless,
Blair, Ruth Lewis and family

Laurie (aka Willow’s mom) was our well respected neighbour and friend. It was our mutual love for dogs that brought us together shortly after moving in nearby. I can remember the excitement when she shared she would be getting a new puppy - she would light up talking about Willow. We had many doggie play dates at the basketball court, occasional dog walks and many encounters in the neighbourhood. I’ll remember Laurie for her caring and gentle demeanour - she’ll be greatly missed. Thinking of friends & family during this difficult time.

I’ve been in this neighbourhood for 38 years and counting and as far as I could remember Laura would always be seen with her pup walking around. Over the last few years her and Willow would visit and play with our two Jack Russells Roger and Rosie. After a hour long play session all of them would be tired. You’ll be greatly missed Laura, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Dockrill family.
Regards,
Nathan & Georgie Lewis

Laurie,
Never I would have thought to talk to you here and now. You have been a new great friend to me in the last couple of years. We started from Willow and Paul’s moms and we ended up as Novi and Laurie. I’ll never thank you enough for all your support during these two too-short years of friendship; we were here for me from fixing my cloths as my belly was growing to coming with me at my prenatal appointments when I was too anxious or carless. You had a great caregiving soul and I’ll tell about you to Eleon when she’ll ask about my pregnancy stories; you have been her friend too for the time your lives crossed.
I think I’ll never stop secretly hoping to see you popping out of your driveway as I drive by. I will truly miss you.

Laura and I only met two years ago when she, as she would do, reached out to me after the sudden death of my Springer. She knew I was devasted and she wanted to know if she could bring Willow around to visit and give hugs. It was so sweet of her and we forged a friendship that began with Springers and coffee. Four months later I got Rain, Willow's 1/2 and older sister. Since then we had spent a lot of time with our doggies and each other. I was shocked to learn of her death and it leaves a big hole in my heart. I was happy that I could see Willow to her new home which fulfilled Laura's wishes. My sincere condolences to all the Dockrills and to her friends. RIP Laura. xoxo

I have so many fond memories of good times shared. Laurie and I become friends because of her sweet Springer, Kelly Belly and my first dog a Border Collie, Ceilidh. We walked many miles together at Point Pleasant Park and played and supped together as neighbours. We lost touch for a time, but reunited in the past couple of years. She will be truly missed. She was a kind loving soul.
