Obituary of Laura Jo Dockrill

DOCKRILL, Laura "Laurie" Jo~ 67 of Halifax, The Dockrill family is saddened to share the news of the unexpected passing of their beloved sister and aunt Laura Jo Dockrill who passed away unexpectedly of heart complications at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site on March 5, 2024, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the age of 67. Born on April 10, 1956, in Halifax, Laura was the devoted daughter of Reg and Jo (MacKay) Dockrill and was one of nine siblings.

Laura, affectionately known as Laurie, was a devoted daughter and found immense joy in
gathering with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and their families when they returned to the family home in Halifax to visit. Laurie treasured and spoiled to perfection her Springer Spaniels Kelly, Katie, and Willow. She was blessed to have a group of wonderful friends who shared her love of animals and held a special place in her life. Never forgotten but forever remembered and missed by those fortunate to know her.

She is predeceased by her parents Reg and Jo Dockrill, her sister April, her brothers Brian
(Cindy) and Mike (Natalie), and sister-in-law Leah (Chris). In her passing, she leaves family who will miss her deeply. Her brothers Peter (Patricia), Chris, Perry (Suzanne), Mark (Pauline), and Marty (Karin). As well, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Susan, Sarah, Mike, Robin, Lauren, Nick, Tim, Erin, Sam, Maggie, Mya, Melissa, Andrew, Lauren, Heather, Ali, Megan, Holly, and Graeme.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held in Lockeport, NS in the summer where her ashes will join those of her parents and brother Mike.
