Obituary of Samuel David Lorne Scribner

Sam was a kind and generous brother, partner, and friend.  He was an avid reader and loved Sci-Fi.  In his younger years, he spent many hours scuba diving and curling.
Sam loved his three little white dogs.  Sam came to Halifax to attend St. Mary’s University and stayed on to work for SMU in the Residence department for 44 years.

He is survived by his partner, Vera Poitier; sister, Susan Turczyn (Scribner) and friend/housemate Kathy Dell.  He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, William Turczyn (husband of Susan); little buddies Max and Ruby, and now sadly missed by Lucy.
 

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.  In keeping with Sam's wishes there will be no services and burial will take place later in his family’s plot in Hampton, NB.  Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Foundation.
