Obituary of Grant Robert Gilfoy

Age 61, Halifax, passed away peacefully January 13, 2017 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Robert and Joyce (Maxwell) Gilfoy. Grant was a long time resident of Purcell’s Cove. He loved gardening and all sports, he was a die hard Rangers and Vikings fan. Grant is survived by sister, Carol Cleveland (Jamie), Halifax; brother, Garry Gilfoy (Libbi Turner), Australia; nieces and nephews, Alyssa and Andrew Swim; Saskia, Erica and Rune Gilfoy. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd. where visitation will be held Monday January 16 from 7-9 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday January 17 at 1p.m. from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church 290 Purcell’s Cove Rd., Rev Jim McCorrison as celebrant. Interment to take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
