David was always very giving and loving. Though I had not seen him in many years, I have fond memories of our early years at Rumours, Studio and Reflections. My deep condolences to his family. His light shines on through his family and all those who he came in contact with. Dianna Prest

It is with tremendous sadness that I offer my condolences to David's friends and family. I am blessed to have known David and considered him a true friend for almost 30 years. David was a true free spirit and there was never a time that he didn't make me laugh, or offer a solution to make myself a better person. My last visit to Toronto involved a whirlwind shopping trip through the shoe stores only David could find. The higher the heels the happier he was. The more sparklingly the chandelier the more he loved it. His apartment was a combination of colour and insane neatness. David never hesitated to offer a suggestion (sometimes including a colourful curse) as to how one should revamp their looks whether it be with makeup, clothing or hair styles. I'll never forget the time I allowed him to play hair stylist and ended up with pure white hair from a attempted streaking party at his place in Halifax. These are the memories which will keep him very much alive in our hearts. I'm sure everyone that he cared for has a special memory which will make them smile and giggle. Davis truly was one of a kind. You are loved David... and I hope there are millions of sparkling chandeliers where you are. Cece

I can't express enough to you how amazing my years of friendship were with our beloved David, and as such, our beautiful Studio. A lot of who I am, and the self-confidence and determination I have, are because of who he helped transform me into. I stepped out of my shy box; potentially with stilettos and red lips, and have conquered so many obstacles since. He gave me love, he instilled into me courage. My love is with you all as we mourn this significant loss. I have missed him, and will sadly now continue missing him so much! <3

He adored you melanie. To him you were like the most beautiful woman on earth. We used to boast about you to our friends, about how beautiul you were. I met you when i was 13 and you were 19. You were there when dad gave me that sad news of his illness . When he left the car i broke down. You were in sich disbelief over me. Dont think i ever thanks you for that day so i will today ,26 years later . Thank you Melanie Jane.

I was fortunate to meet David, even for a brief few months, in Ottawa. What a wonderful, calm, intelligent spirit he was. He had an attractive aura and you just wanted to know him when you met him. You knew he had something to say and give, even though he had a quiet demeanor. So much talent and a love for life. He will be missed. My condolences to his family, friends, and other loved ones on the East Coast on the loss of such a wonderful person.

Before David moved, he was my best friend, roomie, my brother, my sister and my mother. I was not the same person after I met David, that was a good thing. He boosted my self esteem and gave me the attitude to live life to the fullest no matter what. When I moved away and we lost touch, I lost that but I am slowly getting it back. I wish I had seen David again, but I will be there as my fabulous self to say goodbye. Good bye for now dear friend...we will meet again and have a great drag show in the sky.

I knew David from way back in 1982 from old friend Janet Smith. I had a small crush on him when we were teenagers. Hard to believe that he's really gone from us on this Earth. He will be sorely missed by family and friends! I will never forget him.
