Obituary of Marjorie "Midge" Cooper

Age 79, Spryfield. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Midge on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at home, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Henneberry) Shadbolt.

Midge enjoyed many weekends at the cottage (Stagger Inn) in Bridgewater with family and friends, attending Bingo at the Halifax Forum, playing cards every Saturday, watching Jeopardy nightly and enjoying breakfast at the Clayton Park Smitty’s. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by daughter, Ann-Marie (Jeremy) Siegfried, Thunder Bay, ON; brother, Chester (Arlene), Calgary, AB and Tom (Sharon) Shadbolt, Riverview, NB. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and many friends; especially her long-time friend of 25 years, Cheryl Warren, who has been Midge’s sidekick for over 14 years and a great support. She was predeceased by husband, Gordon; brothers, Merrill and George Shadbolt.

In keeping with Midge’s wishes there will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at 11 AM in Gospel Light Baptist Church, 1266 Old Sambro Road, Harrietsfield; followed by a reception. Donations in memory can be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church.
